Beach Pebble Lariats and Jewelry

Made a few Lariat necklaces today with my imitative beach pebbles from polymer clay. Most of them incorporate glass beads that resemble beach glass.


The lariats measure between 40" and 56" and can be worn long, knotted, or doubled (to look like one is wearing 2 necklaces). The shorter necklaces are anywhere from 16" to 24" long.

Pebbles and almost every stone

Beading and I've made a few Pebls again. Should you wonder what Pebls are, they are Polymerclay evolved beach-like stones. I came up with the name for a swap I hosted in 2007 for Clayamies. You can have a look at the pebble bracelets here. I'm currently working on a tutorial on how you can create these.

Here are 3 styles of pebls, gray rocks with 'quartz' veins, red 'jasper' and "garnet schist'

Add a black "Basalt"...

Almost every Gem I could muster, Lemon quartz, topaz, amethyst, rainbow flourite, turquoise....I think I'll call this pendant...

Polymer Clay Petroglyphs

My latest Polymer Clay articles in summery orange and lemon colour. I created some petroglyph silkscreens for business card cases such as this one, as well as for necklaces and earrings. Other colours available are amazonite teal and purple lilac. These are available in my Artfire.

Purple Polymer Clay Jewelry

Am in a mood for purple. These earrings and necklace are made from black Polymer Clay with Jones Tones foil and resin. I used some of the fishing lure spoons for the oval earrings and some other metal backs for the others.
I have put 3 sizes of the fishing lure bezels up on my Artfire.
I made these with the large size...
These are made with some other bezels I have. I may put a few of those up tomorrow.


This purple starfish is my favorite. Already sold 2 of these. These pictures don't do it justice because it has 3 dimensional depth that can't be shown with a 1 dimensional photo.

Steam punk Turtles, Urchins and Flowers

Spent this later part of the week with some Polymer Clay play. Created some Turtle pendants and Flowers. Some of the Turtles are Steam punk....or Borg, whichever term one prefers. Some of the turtles have glass backs. The urchin has a wire wrapped cage.


For the flowers I used Lisa Pavelka's technique, the foil tear away method. One of the pendants has a blue agate, the other dichroic glass. I glued those in and then used Magic Glos. Worked beautifully on a sunny day, but had to do a few coats.

One fish, two fish, plenty starfish

That's not all. These polymer clay starfish, scallop shells and sanddollars are all going to one seller. I just need to make a few more and then finish the matching earrings. And then?...I get to repeat the process for another batch, lol. I'm taking tomorrow and Monday off, to spend some time with family. It is Easter after all. New Flowers

Haven't posted here in a while as I'm spending quite a bit of time on my other blog. Since this is jewelry after all, here is some eye candy of what I've been up to...
the flower chains can be worn long, or doubled with chain, or even with chain tighter around neck, whatever length one prefers. I don't like the asymmetrical styles too much, but this works for me as there is still a certain balance with the colour and some of the shapes.

Bam Bam it's done - Bracelet tool kit for Polymer Clay

It may seem like the usual kind of polymer clay tube bangle bracelet and well, ok....it is! lol.
Of course you can size bracelets with your method of choice such as measuring tape, string or ruler, but whether making a bracelet for yourself or a friend (or even strangers!)...or whether you use it for polymer clay, beadwork or wire, the "BAM!BAM! it's done" bracelet tool makes sizing a breeze. Captured beaded Sunshine

Wishing for some sun of course. This summer has been cold and wet. Very unusual and so am beading in sunshine colours. This necklace is made with Japanese seed and magatama beads, Amber, African Amber Opal and Lemon Quartz. The focal piece which I beaded before assembly was created by my husband Bill. Below is a similar set, also with the same stones.

These pendants are a cool version of ones that I have already been creating under the name "Art Deko". The difference with these, you will be able to pick your stones. I'll be posting a list of stones available with pictures of colour, their description/meanings, so that you can choose stones for your very own custom made power pendant. Picassa stones (Pick-us-a stone) will vary in sizes.
You'll be able to pick a number of stones, 5 for a small, 8 for a medium and up to 12 for a large pendant. The type of stone you pick will reflect on the overall price, but pendants will range from $28-$38 for small, $48-68 for medium and $68-$98 for large ($98 would be very large). The range includes price differentials for cost and size of stones as certain stones such as Lemon Quartz will be costlier than Smoky quartz. Celtic Beadwork Necklaces

This line of necklaces are a variation of my wire crochet jewelry. Braided strands with recycled glass, African sand cast glass and European glass and wire. 3 strand braids intertwining the cultural beads as one. Also some of my other beadwork, embroidered 'urchin' and abalone pieces.
The celtic strands are done with copper or silverplated copper, both tarnish resistant (they don't seem to tarnish as I've had the wire for months with no change, also own a few personal pieces that I wear, also no difference. I don't shower or bathe with my jewelry, this makes a difference also). Enquire for prices. This piece is with a nice large green Agate cabochon.

Dharma Chakra Wheel Jewelry

Chakra Wheel Necklaces.
The Dharma Wheel is of Bhuddist Hindu origin. The Wheel of Law resembles a wheel with 8 spokes, each representing one of the eight tenets of Bhuddist belief. The circle represents the completeness of the Dharma, the spokes represent the eightfold path leading to enlightenment. Rather than Samsara, or endless rebirth, this symbol represents that of overcoming obstacles.

Each necklace is handbeaded with Japanese Mijuki and czech fire polish glass beads in the chakra colours, but also contains a semiprecious stone within each wheel assigned to the particular chakra. Description and legends on front and back of Card.

These jewel-like beads have been made from recycled glass such as bottles. Shown are aqua/green mix. Other colour mixes are Ambers (dark and light), med. and dark blue, and multi colour.

Tags have pictures to show a bit of the process, crushing glass, melting and forming. Bright silver has its place, but there has been way too much out on the market....so, I'm glad my favourite metal, copper, is making a come-back....without the green patina on your skin. With the summer peridot green that is in season...copper is just the right thing to compliment it.

These pebbles are made by Tina from polymer clay. Many are fooled by their appearance even upon close inspection. The only thing that gives these away is their lack of weight as they are very light. The bracelets range in sizes from 6 1/4" to 7 3/4", but can be made in any size you desire. Tina designed the bracelet in a wire macrame that is very comfortable. The plus about copper is that it is reputed to have healing powers and be beneficial against arthritis, plus it has a non-tarnish coating. Soft and flexible. $42 to $50, depending on wrist size.
